Eliézer Jesús Alfonzo (born February 7, 1979 in Puerto la Cruz, Venezuela) is a rookie catcher in Major League Baseball who plays with the San Francisco Giants. He bats and throws right handed.

A 10-season minor league veteran, Alfonzo debuted with the Giants on June 3, 2006. He had an impressive first week in the major leagues. On his debut, he hit a two-run home run against the Mets for his first major league hit, leading San Francisco to a 6–4 victory at Shea Stadium, during the first game of a doubleheader. He also caught the 12-inning second game. Three days later, he caught pitcher Jason Schmidt's 16-strikeout game, which matched a 102-year-old Giants franchise record. Two days later, in his fourth career start, he scored the winning run on a wild pitch with two outs in the ninth inning, as the Giants rallied to beat Pittsburgh, 5–4.

Alfonzo filled in for veteran catcher Mike Matheny, who was sidelined with symptoms following a concussion, for the rest of the 2006 season.

On July 17th, 2006 in Washington D.C. Alfonzo had his first career multi home-run game against the Washington Nationals. RFK Stadium is one of the deepest ball parks in the majors, and Alfonzo hit both of them into one of the deepest parts of the yard.
