Electoral district of Port Macquarie

Port Macquarie is an electoral district of the Legislative Assembly in the Australian state of New South Wales. It has been represented by independent member Rob Oakeshott since 1996.
According to the report for the 2004 redistribution of electoral districts, it is estimated that the electoral district will have 48,442 electors on 29 April 2007.[1] At the 2007 election it will include coastal Port Macquarie-Hastings Council (including Port Macquarie, Dunbogan, Kendall, Kew, Laurieton, North Haven and West Haven) and the northeast of the City of Greater Taree (inclluding Coopernook, Lansdowne, Moorland, Hannam Vale, Johns River and Stewarts River).[2]

Port Macquarie was created in 1988, replacing Oxley (which was recreated in 1991).
