Elder hand
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The term Elder hand is used in many traditional Card Games as a title for the hand of the player first in turn. Almost always the player to the left of the dealer is first, and thus, the player to the left of the dealer would be the Elder hand. In card games of two players only; the Elder hand is the non-dealer. Similarly, the Younger hand is the title of the player last in turn (Commonly the dealer).
The titles Elder and Yonger hands are not used in Poker, where usually First to act and Last to act are used instead.
