Elbie Fletcher

Elburt Preston (Elbie) Fletcher (March 18, 1916, Milton, Massachusetts - March 9, 1994, Milton, Massachusetts) was a first baseman in Major League Baseball who played for the Boston Bees (1934-1935, 1937-1939[start]), Pittsburgh Pirates (1939[end]-1943, 1946-1947) and Boston Braves (1949). Fletcher batted and threw left handed.

In a 12-season career, Fletcher posted a .271 batting average with 79 home runs and 616 RBI in 1415 games played.

Fletcher died in Milton, Massachusetts, 9 days before his 78th birthday.
