Elaine MacDonald

Elaine MacDonald is a high school teacher and community activist living in Cornwall, Ontario, Canada. She taught at Saint Lawrence High School, which in 2002 became Saint Lawrence Intermediate School. Many of her classes involved computers. She taught TDJ 3AA. This was an advanced grade 11 tech credit designed to teach the fundamentals of art on computers. Students started with MS Paint and worked their way up to Corel image programs and animated gifs. Another course was Computer Literacy. This was an advanced grade 12 English credit. Among other things this course taught students about the history of the internet, how to spot lies on the internet and why filesharing exists.

She was the New Democratic Party candidate in the Eastern Ontario riding of Stormont—Dundas—South Glengarry for the 2004 and 2006 federal elections.

She is the mother of rock musician and writer Maggie MacDonald.
