Elaine Alquist

Elaine White Alquist (born 1944) is currently a Democratic State Senator from California's 13th Senate District. She has been in office since December of 2004. She succeeded John Vasconcellos and Vasconcellos had succeeded Alquist's husband, the late Al Alquist who represented this district for 30 years. Prior to her senate term, Alquist served in the California State Assembly from the 22nd district which like her Senate seat is centered in the Silicon Valley from 1996 until 2002.
