Elahieh (also spelt Elahiyeh) is a district in northern Tehran.

[edit] About

This district is home to the club houses of the Russian, Turkish, German, Swiss, and Danish embassies. Perhaps the most famous part of the area is in the south, around Shahid Fayyazi Avenue (once called Fereshteh Avenue). This is where the newest buildings and many fashionable locales can be found. Iran's only Gucci billboard is located in this district, as well as numerous high-end shops and businesses. Before Shemiran was officially incorporated into the city of Tehran, the area consisted of extensive and expansive residences and gardens used as summer homes for wealthy residents of Tehran.

Most of the land in this district once belonged to Mrs. Fakhr ol dowleh, daughter of Mozaffareddin Shah Qajar, known to be the richest woman in Iran during her life.

Mahmoud Hessaby's house is in Elahieh on Hessaby Street.
