Elaeagnus commutata (American Silverberry, or Wolf Willow), is a species of Elaeagnus native to North America that ranges from central Alaska through British Columbia, down to central California and across the upper Midwestern Unites States. E. commutata is a shrub or small tree that reaches 12 ft. in height. The leaves are silvery in appearance on both sides, as are the fruits. It is a popular ornamental plant.
