[edit] Three revert rule warning on Just Legal
Please refrain from undoing other people's edits repeatedly. If you continue, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia under the three-revert rule, which states that nobody may revert a single page more than three times in 24 hours. (Note: this also means editing the page to reinsert an old edit. If the effect of your actions is to revert back, it qualifies as a revert.) Thank you. It would be much better to discuss the changes on the talk page instead. Cowman109Talk 04:05, 21 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] pic
yup, you can use it. it is a "fair use" image which means anyone can use it, as long as it is next to text that is dicussing the subject of the image. in this case, that means it has to be next to a section about miami vice. it wouldn't be allowed next to a section about philip michael thomas' singing career or duck-hunting hobby, etc. ;)

[edit] Map of Greek prefectures
Here's the map, as promised. I've uploaded it to the Commons so that it can be used on the Greek Wikipedia as well.
Hopefully this will meet your requirements! If not, please feel free to edit it as you see fit. -- ChrisO 12:14, 11 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Athens
Ok. Its good we found a consensus here. Όχι πως είναι εντυπωσιακές όλες οι φώτο, αλλά γίνεται να μην υπάρχει εμφανής εικόνα της Ακρόπολης ή του Λυκαβηττού; Thanks & I understood where you come from. JFKennedy 01:13, 23 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:Athens seal.jpg)
Thanks for uploading Image:Athens seal.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).
If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] Welcome!
Welcome to the project! I hope you will enjoy contributing to our effort there!--Yannismarou 20:00, 11 March 2007 (UTC)
Hi, and welcome to the WikiProject Greece! As you may have guessed, we're a group of editors working to improve Wikipedia's coverage of topics related to Greece.
A few features that you might find helpful:
- Our sidebar points to most of the useful pages within the project.
- The Announcements and Open tasks section is updated quite regularly. You can watchlist it if you're interested; or, you can add it directly to your user page by including {{HOGOpenTasks}} there.
- Most important discussions take place on the project's main discussion page; it is recommended that you watchlist it.
- The project has a monthly newsletter; it will normally be delivered as a link, but several other formats are available.
There are a variety of interesting things to do within the project; you're free to participate however much—or little—you like:
- Interested in working on a more complete article? The peer review department of the project would welcome your help!
- Interested in a particular area of Greek history, geography, culture etc. ? There is already one task force, and you could initiate the creation of more focusing on specific topics or periods.
- Want to know how good our articles are? The assessment department is working on rating the quality of every military history article in Wikipedia.
If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to any experienced member of the project, and we'll be happy to help you. Again, welcome! We look forward to seeing you around!
[edit] Athens infobox
Re your revert here ([1]), what exactly did you dislike about my edits that you had to blanket-revert all of them? I didn't in fact remove anything from the infobox, I just replaced that terribly officious-sounding "Deme of the Athenians" (which probably nobody in the whole world has ever used in English) with the standard "Athens". I have no opinion whether to include the city seal there, I certainly don't mind having it. Do you really want "Deme of the Athenians"?? Or that jumble of name versions in the lead that I simplified? I just don't quite understand your edit. Fut.Perf. ☼ 19:20, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
- The revert was just out of laziness. Kékrōps took it upon himself to delete the city flag, title of mayor, mayor of Athens, and the website of athens, after your edits that included the information and the fields themselves. You know how annoying it is when the fields are deleted? It's one thing deleting the information, but don't delete the fields. Therefore I reverted the edits to a version I felt comfortable with. I didn't mind the Deme of Athenians, and the revert wasn't meant for you, but Kékrōps. So if it felt like I was reverting your edits, I apologize. El Greco 22:04, 13 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Casino Royale locations pic
Looks good, but there seems to be a small margin of white on the right side of the picture. If you go to the picture's page and click it but do not release the button, the border of the picture should be visible and you'll see what I mean. Cliff smith 16:02, 23 March 2007 (UTC)
- I see what you mean, and went ahead and uploaded a newer version with no "white margin" on the right side. It should look fine now. El Greco 01:08, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

- Impressive. TYVM. It's a great addition to the article. Cliff smith 20:18, 24 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Just legal.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Just legal.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 20:20, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
- I added fair use rationale to the disscussion page of the photo. I hope it is sufficient enough to prevent it from being deleted. If not, I'll see what else needs to be put in to make it reach fair use rationale. I also replaced the Liscensing tag with a more appropriate liscense. El Greco 21:50, 27 March 2007 (UTC)
