The band first announced they were writing songs for the album in march 2006 after completing their second Japan tour. The first song named and played live was "Late Night Binges" which was first Performed at T In The Park on July 8, 2006. The official website stated their to be at least 7 songs written for the album in August 2006. More songs including "Reach Out" and another unknown track, was premiered On The French November tour. Recording started October/November and started again after the French tour in late November.
A Statement was issued by One Records in November:
The band were recording at the start of November and are now away in France on tour. They plan to finish the record on their return from France.
With regards to a single, it will be in the new year sometime, best way to keep up to date is through their website www.elpresidentemusic.com . Touring the UK will come roughly the same time as the new single and the band would most definitely be doing a London show at that time.
In January 2007 newer information was provided by One Records:
The band are in the process of writing and recording the album, we hope it will be completed by early March.
However these things are always subject to change, and as a result, there are no confirmed touring schedules or release dates at the moment. There will however be new material and dates in the first half of the year, and as soon as these are confirmed, I’ll let you know.

In Mid January, dante said it was 90% complete, and that he was planning to do a song in French. Johnny Mcelhone ( Texas 's bassist) is also working with the band on their second album, although just what his contribution will be is yet to be said. Daily Record Article
