El Cantante (2007) is an American film, set to be released in the United States on August 1, 2007. The film stars real life couple singer-songwriter-actor Marc Anthony and his wife American singer-actress-songwriter-film producer-designer Jennifer Lopez. The film is based on the life story of salsa singer Hector Lavoe (played by Marc Anthony). The film debuted at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 12, 2006.
