Eknath

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Sant Eknath (1533-1599) was a saint from Maharashtra, India during the Bhakthi period. He is associated with putting together a new or pure version of Dnyaneshwari , oiginally written by Saint Dnyaneshwar in the 13th century. He also popularized a new form of Marathi religious songs called Bharud.

Recent forensic and genetic investigations have revealed that Eknath had several children not acknowledged by his estate, all of them by what appear to be mistresses.
