Eisenhower Middle School (Succasunna)

Eisenhower Middle School (EMS) is a middle school located in the Succasunna section of Roxbury Township in Morris County, New Jersey, United States, which educates children in grades seven and eight as part of the Roxbury School District.

As of 2006-2007, the school principal is Mr. Daniel R. Johnson. The school educates approximately 660 students annually, 86% of which are White, 6% Hispanic, 5% Asian and 3% African American. Of those in attendance at Eisenhower Middle School, 7% are eligible for the free or reduced lunch program, in contrast to the state average of 32%.

During the 2005-2006 school year, the 8th grade band (graduates of 2010) achieved a first place award in the Music Festival at Hersey Park in Hershey, PA. Directed by Trish Baggs, the band had an average score of 95.0.

During the 2004-2005 school year, Eisenhower Middle School's 8th grade national science team placed 2nd in the state and 26th in the nation.

Without doubt, Mr. Parker is the coolest gym teaher.

The school offers a variety of after school clubs, including but not limited to Horticulture, Chorus, Drama, Field Hockey, Wrestling, Basketball, and Track.

Incidentally, famous professional wrestler Tito Santana (Merced Solis) teaches Spanish at EMS.

The 2006-07 Jazz Ensemble will play the following songs: Area 51, Trick Bag, The Shadow of Your Smile (piano solo by nick), and Sing Sing Sing. The highlight musicians in the band (according to Mr. Parker) are Zack, Nick, Bret, Steven, Joe, Eric, Katherine, and Christine.

Secret about the school: In the computer lab, at the top of the staircase is a note listing the fattest kids in the school. It is always there, stuck in the crack of the door at the top of the stairs.
