Einar Arnórsson (b. 24 February 1880 d. 29 March 1955) was Prime Minister of Iceland from 4 May 1915 to 4 January 1917. Einar graduated in Laws from University of Copenhagen in 1906. Einar was elected to Althingi and sat there in 1914-1919 and 1931-1932 for the Independence party. He was Minister of Education and Justice during Björn Þórðarson's government in 1942-1944. He was professor in Law at University of Iceland 1911-1915 and again after leaving office as prime minister in 1917 to 1922. He was Supreme Court Judge in 1932-1942 and again 1944-1945. He was president of University of Iceland in 1918-1919 and 1929-1930. Temporarily was he father in law to Halldór Laxness. He was editor of Ísafold and Morgunblaðið 1919-1920.
