Eileen Myles is a poet and novelist. Currently she is a Professor of Literature at University of California, San Diego.

Eileen Myles has also been involved in activist projects such as Gay Shame, and spoke at the first of these annual events, held in 1998 at DUMBA in Brooklyn, NY. She appears in the documentary film made of the evening by Scott Berry, entitled Gay Shame 98.
