Ehrharta erecta is a species of grass also known as panic veldtgrass, ehrharta, Lamarck's ehrharta, and veld grass. The species is native to Southern Africa and Yemen. It is a documented invasive species in the United States, New Zealand, Australia, southern Europe, and China.

The species is perennial, it can form seed although most reproduction in vegative and occurs by rooting at nodes. The grass is normally 30 to 50 centimeters tall, although it may reach two meters in height.

The species has been used for forage and in ecological restoration, like dune stabilization. However it has become invasive in many areas.
