Edyta Sliwinska is a professional dancer in her fourth season on ABC's Dancing with the Stars series. Her professional partner outside of the show is Alec Mazo, who won the first season of the show. They have danced together for over 6 years. As of November 1, 2006, Edyta and Alec are engaged and soon to be married,[1] and have performed together multiple times for Dancing with the Stars results shows in pair numbers. According to the dancers webpage the couple is set to marry in September 2007.

Edyta comes from a working-class Polish background and has made many sacrifices to pursue her dream to become the world's greatest Latin dancer. She attended her first dance class at the age of 11. Music was what first drew Edyta to dancing, and what keeps her so passionate about it. Edyta believes very strongly in creating chemistry on the dance floor. Despite only turning professional recently, Edyta sees herself as a future world champion and her sudden emergence on the professional scene has ruffled the feathers of many of her competitors.

In the first season of Dancing with the Stars, Edyta partnered boxing champion Evander Holyfield during the first season when they were placed fifth. She partnered actor George Hamilton during the second season, again coming fifth. In season three, Edyta partnered actor Joey Lawrence, achieving third place. Beginning December 19, 2006, Edyta and Joey will dance as part of Dancing with the Stars – The Tour until February 11, 2007.[2]

Edyta returned to the ballroom on March 19 for Season 4, this time partnered with ex-Cheers actor John Ratzenberger, replacing ex-Sopranos actor Vincent Pastore.[3]
