From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A tag has been placed on The Human Abstract, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable (see the guidelines for notability here). If you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, articles #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. ¤~Persian Poet Gal (talk) 00:52, 1 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Highways Of The Dominican Republic

A tag has been placed on Highways Of The Dominican Republic, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing little or no context to the reader. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. If you plan to add more material to the article, I advise you to do so immediately. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources which verify their content. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. To contest the tagging and request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Yuser31415 05:19, 16 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] rfa

To create an rfa, please follow the instructions at WP:GRFA. You have to create the page before you add it to WP:RFA. Please don't add it again until you've created it. Thanks. Picaroon 03:49, 23 December 2006 (UTC)

Please don't add your RfA attempt again until you have followed the instructions that Picaroon pointed you to above. I should warn you that an inability to follow the RfA instructions is taken by some contributors as a sign that you are not yet ready for the responsibilities of being an admin. [edit] Tagged

A tag has been placed on Aster(Cable), requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is notable, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}} on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.

For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. John Reaves 08:05, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Please do not remove speedy deletion tags from articles. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:
  1. Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion tag(s).
  2. Make your case on the article's talk page.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. John Reaves 08:07, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

Please stop removing speedy deletion notices from articles that you have created yourself. If you do not believe the article deserves to be deleted, then please do the following:
  1. Place {{hangon}} on the page. Please do not remove any existing speedy deletion notice(s)
  2. Make your case on the article's talk page.

Administrators will look at your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Thank you. John Reaves 08:16, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Notability

Notability guidelines for companies are at WP:CORP. The most important thing is finding outside sources. Has the company been covered in any newspapers or magazines? That would show its notability. NickelShoe (Talk) 20:38, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Your RfA - friendly, but firm, advice

Please please please, withdraw your RfA. You stand 0% chance of success so early in your time here; I'll be surprised if you get a single support !vote. All that you'll achieve is to make your chances of a successful RfA in, say, six to ten months, far less likely, as editors will view your actions now as a bad sign. I went through this yesterday with User:Foundby and it was awful. Please withdraw. --Dweller 09:34, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

I regret to say that I have closed your RfA early as per WP:SNOW. I have included a summary of the opinions cast in my reason for doing so, which was essentially 'get some more experience before trying again'. You have been very brave in putting yourself in the spotlight here after so short a time of editing WP. Most people wait between six-to-twelve months before trying for an RfA and they are not alway successful either. Strategies for improving your profile for another RfA include:
  1. contributing effectively to articles. This includes finding references and citations for facts in reliable sources, something that is essential for an encyclopedia.
  2. Working on the Good Article Drive, Good Article Collaboration of the week and the Article Creation and Improvement Drive.
  3. Patrolling the New pages and Recent changes special pages for vandalism; tagging the pages according to the criteria for speedy deletion and warning the vandals.
  4. Reporting repeat vandals for admin intervention.
  5. Joining a Wikiproject or finding a portal on a subject in which you are interested and contributing through that.
  6. Assisting at the Help and Reference desks.
  7. Welcoming new users.
  8. Becoming adopted or, when you are more experienced, adopting new users to assist them in learning about Wikipedia.

These are just some of the ideas for making effective contributions to the project. You can also see Wikipedia:Contributing to Wikipedia for more ideas. Regards and good editing, (aeropagitica) 14:32, 11 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Aster(Cable)

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Aster(Cable), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree with the notice, discuss the issues at its talk page. Removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, but the article may still be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached, or if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria. [edit] Image copyright problem with Image:Alcazarsd.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Alcazarsd.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the copyright status of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the copyright status of the image on the image's description page, using an appropriate copyright tag, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided copyright information for them as well.

[edit] License tagging for Image:TPro.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:TPro.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 05:08, 9 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:3-alstom-metropolis.jpg listed for deletion

Dear uploader: The media file you uploaded as Image:3-alstom-metropolis.jpg has been listed for speedy deletion because you selected a copyright license type implying some type of restricted use, such as for non-commercial use only, or for educational use only or for use on Wikipedia by permission. While it might seem reasonable to assume that such files can be freely used on Wikipedia, a non-profit website, this is in fact not the case. Please do not upload any more files with these restrictions on them, because content on Wikipedia needs to be compatible with the GNU Free Documentation License, which allows anyone to use it for any purpose, commercial or non-commercial.

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.

If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.

If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Sherool (talk) 08:43, 1 March 2007 (UTC)
Estimado EdwinCasadoBaez, any way to get that image legally up and running again?! we need a good image, how about first class construction site photos?! – Moebiusuibeom 17:40, 6 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Santo Domingo Metro

EdwinCasadoBaez; you have added very valuable info and images but, "with all due respect", you have to improve on the English and the way the article is expressed, remember that this is for an international viewer and we must place Santo Domingo high on top, you must have a native English speaking friend around!, and believe me, i myself go to great lengths to have my articles in either, Español or English (or other languages) be polished and professional! Un compatriota latinoamericano _ Moebiusuibeom 15:12, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

Furthermore, every place on earth that has an efficient public transportation system thrives, this metro will definitely jump start Santo Domingo into the future, believe me, when Chicago, Buenos Aires, London or Berlin put their systems to work, those cities had a chaotic transport system witch prevented progress, many people where unemployed, slums where around, an efficient transport system will change the fisionomy of the city for betterment, new jobs will come, change will be inevitable, Santo Domingo is prime for this type of transport system, Alstom and Siemens have been installing metro systems for over 100 years, they are pioneers, they know what they are doing.
The negatives of certain paragraphs in article could be canalized as Pros and Cons, please revise or symplfy, I may be able to polish it up later in week if you like. me podes contestarme en español, saludos _ Moebiusuibeom 15:50, 12 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Heroes Del Silencio

Sorry about the quick speedy, but I'm not psychic. I base these things on what's there, not what's going to be there. What was there in the intial version was speedy-able due to language. After is was modified, it was okay, and I withdrew the tag immediately with no problems. Thanks again. Finngall 05:48, 16 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] I have A Quick Question For you!

hey. Do you know about "heroes Del Silencio"???if you do, can you help me out in their discography section and Albums?User:EdwinCasadoBaez

Sorry, no I don't. I just randomly came across some of those articles and made some minor edits. timrem 01:19, 19 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Alan Boguslavsky

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article Alan Boguslavsky, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. 172.130.159.15 11:01, 25 March 2007 (UTC)
