But until they do how is that not fair use? A mcmurray 06:24, 26 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Astrosociobiology
Would you mind glancing at the astrosociobiology article and helping me figure out whether or not the proposal for deletion is spurious? I'm pretty sure this is just vandalism but I'd like someone else's opinion and it's on your watchlist. Moonsword 05:47, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Done. Edward 06:32, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Zelenograd & Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology
THX for images, but there is the problem. These images are property of Zelenograd historical museum, and not old (under 50 year). thrudhame is not the author of these works. --Alex Spade 14:05, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
- Yes. Whoops. Nevermind. Delete them. Edward 17:13, 30 October 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Leclanché cell
Someone recently made a redirect to an article you deleted Leclanché cell. This gets 33,600 hits on Google and doesn't sound like the kind of page made just to say "You bastard Wikpedia". Can you look over at the history of the page and see if there's any genuine content? Thanks, --WikiSlasher 11:34, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- Well the article was recreated by him while I was typing, but can you check the revisions before the deletion anyway? Thanks, --WikiSlasher 11:36, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- There wasn't any genuine content in the history. Edward 11:43, 3 November 2006 (UTC)
- OK thanks for the quick response. --WikiSlasher 12:11, 3 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Transfair-produktauswahl.jpg
Hello,
About the "fair use" issue with the Image:Transfair-produktauswahl.jpg image... maybe I used the wrong tag - we have secured the authorization from the copyright holder, Transfair Germany, to release rights to the picture. This was done by a German Wikipedia user - although I could do it again easily, as I work for another sister Fairtrade organization.
I chose the copyright tag because the image is used "to promote their work or product in the media, such as advertising material or a promotional photo in a press kit" (reason why they chose to release it in the public domain in the first plage).
Please let me know - I'd like to fix this asap. THanks, Vincentl 21:59, 23 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:USA-satellite.jpg
Hello Edward. I reverted your edit because there was no image present with the same name on commons. Because the image was deleted on commons. Please check out before responding. Please upload the image with proper information on commons. You could use CommosHelper. Regards, Shyam (T/C) 10:56, 10 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] mod_sphere.jpg
Somehow I failed to understand the reason why image was deleted.
Can you be more explanatory, to help me avoid any mistakes in the future? Makrisj 17:22, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
Mod_sphere.jpg It was a diagram that could be redrawn using a vector graphics editor like Inkscape. Edward 17:32, 11 December 2006 (UTC)
Since I am neither an artist nor I can afford a vector graphics editor, I would leave to someone with the skills the chance to redraw it. Thanks anyway. Makrisj 16:29, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Chernobyl photo
Hi Edward.
What are the weird plants(?) near the orange flowers in this photo
from Chernobyl? Shermozle 06:36, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- I had the luck to see the orange things in person. They are not flowers but some ceramic "art" whose sole purpose seems to be there and look ugly. --Shaddack 05:11, 8 February 2007 (UTC)
[edit] User Boxes
Hey, Edward. Why don't you have any user boxes on your user page? it makes it more interesting, and not as boing to look at. I LOVE WIKIGNOMES!

[edit] Dated templates
Just to let you know the -date templates are on their way out, as the standard ones now take MONTH YEAR default parameters: cleanup-date => Cleanup, wikify-date => Wikify, linkless-date => Orphan, unacat-date => Uncategorized. Rich Farmbrough, 21:04 10 January 2007 (GMT).
[edit] Deep Fried Pizza
Hi! I agree that Deep Fried Pizza is funny, but I didn't think Comedy Junk Food was really the right category for it as I got the impression that some of the other objects there were things that people have cooked for a laugh, whereas the Pizza was someone's idea of a meal and was a staple of children's lunches in Glasgow 20/30 years ago. Tragic Junk Food perhaps? By all means put it back if you want though. Stx 13:24, 16 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Reginald Claypoole Vanderbilt
From my user talk page: Hi, can you explain why you deleted the Reginald Claypoole Vanderbilt article? What is the BLP issue you refer to? Edward 02:52, 13 February 2007 (UTC)
Hello Edward, thank you for inquiring. The article was not sourced and contained many negative statements. Although the subject is not alive, the way it was written reflects poorly on the living descendants named in the article. These statements need to be sourced and the article rewritten in a more balanced manner before it is returned to the main space. There was also a question about whether the article claims notability. The content of the article might be better placed in other related articles rather than its own article. Take care, FloNight 13:18, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] new category/userbox
Hi, i thought you might like add the following category to your user page.
- Category:Wikipedians by alma mater: University of East Anglia
also i have created a user box for uea students/alumni. You may like to add it to your user page.
- The code is {{User uea}}
-
-
- what actually constitutes a "fair use" image then? the crest appears on the uea page thus i deemed it would also be acceptable in a userbox. --Jamesmh2006 10:00, 3 April 2007 (UTC)
