From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Harkness founded a sort of reverse version of the Rhodes Scholarship, where citizens of Britain and its Commonwealth were awarded fellowships to prestigious American universities. Alistair Cooke was a recipient; so was Harrison Birtwistle.
