Edwin "EdVanzd" Morrow (1980 - ) was born in Mt. Vernon, NY, but raised mainly in E. St. Louis, IL. He started acting on stage at the early age of 9 at the Katherine Dunham Performing Arts Center. Edwin also had a great love for Hip-Hop at that time and performed a great deal locally for many school events.

After six years of theater and music performances, Edwin went from the stage to the screen at the age of 15 when he debuted as “Young Willie Mays” in the HBO movie “Soul of the Game”. Edwin’s love for Hip-Hop grew as he began to hone his skills as a lyricist by writing everyday. He began performing locally under the stage name ‘EdVanz’d’ (Pronounced Edvanced) at several engagements as both an opening act and as a featured artist.

In 1997, Edwin co-starred in the movie “Park Day” as the funny scene stealing Smitty “Short-Bug” Smith. He also wrote and performed a song on the soundtrack. Edwin graduated with honors from Lincoln Senior High School where he was awarded many achievements including Drama. Pursuing his passions for music and acting, Edwin placed his college studies on hold and moved to California in October 1999, just one year after graduating high school.

In March of 2001, Edwin was cast alongside Mel Gibson and a star studded line-up in the Paramount Pictures release of “We Were Soldiers” as the lovable Pvt. Willie Godboldt. He has since crossed over into television appearing on such shows as “ER,” “The District,” “Boston Public,” “The Parkers,” “One On One,” and also starring alongside Keisha Knight-Pulliam (The Cosby Show) in the made for TV movie “What About Your Friends”.

Never one to forget his roots, Edwin returned to the stage in the critically acclaimed theatre production “Direct From Death Row: The Scottsboro Boys,” & August Wilson’s “Joe Turner’s Come And Gone” where he received rave reviews and was awarded numerous awards.

Currently he is expanding into the production realm of the business by working at Kwick Whit Productions, SkipStone Productions and producing his own projects under his own banner EdVanz’d Entertainment, such as “Out The Box: A 3 Woman, 1 Woman Show” (a collaboration with KaShKe Productions).
