Edwin F. Kalmus

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Edwin F. Kalmus (18931989) was an American music publisher. In 1926, he founded his eponymous publishing house in New York and it quickly became one of the largest self-contained publishing houses in the United States. In 1976, much the firm was acquired by Belwin-Mills, though the orchestral parts division remained independent and continues to produce materials from its new headquarters in Boca Raton, Florida. The Belwin-Mills controlled portion continues to publish music under the Kalmus name, much of it inexpensive reprints of old editions now in the public domain.
