Edward Soriano

Lt. Gen. Edward Soriano (born November 1946) was the highest-ranking Filipino American in the US Army until his retirement in 2004. Born in Pangasinan to Ilocos Sur natives, he holds a master's degree.

Graduated from San Jose State University and was commissioned through Army ROTC in 1970. Commanded Company C, 3d Battalion, 47th Infantry of the 3d Brigade of the U.S. 9th Infantry Division 1973-1975. He has been awarded the Distinguished Service Medal, two awards of the Defense Superior Service Medal, four awards of the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, three awards of the Meritorious Service Medal and several other medals including the Army Commendation and Achievement Medals.
