Edward Payson Hart

Edward Payson Hart was a Bishop of the Free Methodist Church, elected in 1874. He was born 6 June 1835 in Middlesex, Vermont. He was deeply impressed by the sermons of a Methodist Episcopal Local Preacher and Evangelist by the name of John Wesley Redfield, M.D. Edward therefore entered the Rock River Annual Conference of the M.E. Church in 1859. He then joined the Illinois Annual Conference of the Free Methodist Church in 1860. His career included being a Pastor, and Organizer and an Evangelist. He died 16 March 1919 in Alameda, California and was also buried in Alameda.
