Edward Patrick Allen

Bishop Edward Patrick Allen, D.D., (March 17, 1853 – October 21, 1926) was a Roman Catholic bishop and the fifth Bishop of Mobile.
Born in Lowell, Massachusetts, he was ordained to the priesthood for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Boston on December 17,1881, after completing a theological course at Mount St. Mary's College, Emmitsburg, Maryland. In 1889 Georgetown University conferred on him the degree of Doctor of Divinity. He was appointed Bishop of Mobile on April 19, 1897, and ordained on May 16, 1897.
He died October 21, 1926, and is entombed in the crypt of the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Mobile, Alabama.
