Edumate is an Australian commercial web based student learning and management system written in PHP using the open source Firebird database. Edumate states that its goal is to provide access to a holistic view of a student's progress from Kindergarten to Year 12 from the one database. This lets the database analyse student performance over their time at the school and notify teachers if particular students need additional help. Along with this Edumate provides teachers and students with a set of online learning and administration tools.

[edit] Versions and history
Work on Edumate commenced in late 1999 and the first commercial version, Edumate 1, was formally launched in March 2002. Three years later it’s successor Edumate 2 was formally launched at Covenant Christian School in March 2005. Edumate 2 was the culmination of the original designs plus 3 years of user contributed feedback.
There is currently a full time development and support team working on Edumate. Typically Edumate ships 3-4 releases a year.
Edumate is used in many independent schools in New South Wales to manage administrative, academic reporting and learning management functions. The Edumate user group meets twice per year to discuss and vote on enhancements to the program. The last meeting of the group was held at Danebank School on 29 November 2006.
