[edit] WPBio ratings

Hi, thanks for you work assessing Biography articles. I noticed you've been commenting out the listas= parameter, and I'm not sure why. All listas does is determine the talk page's placement in the maintenance categories, so that instead of having 200,000 pages filed under T for Talk we get them filed under surname, firstname or something close to that. It doesn't really matter if the listas is slightly inaccurate, although it would be better to fix any "incorrect" ones rather than comment then out. Hope that helps. --kingboyk 12:26, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Looking at your contribs a bit further, you might not even realise that's what your doing. Here's an example:

|s&a-work-group = yes <!-- Science and Academia -->
|listas = <!-- Francfort, Henri-Paul -->

The <!-- --> marks mean HTML comment; anything inside that tag is ignored. So, the parameters above mean:

  1. Science and Academia workgroup = yes
  2. A HTML comment saying "Science and Academia" (not needed, but also not harmful)
  3. An empty listas parameter
  4. An HTML comment, ignored by Mediawiki, saying "Francfort, Henri-Paul".

Again, hope that helps. --kingboyk 12:31, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

It does - many thanks. I didn't realise I was doing it wrong until you pointed it out - currently revisiting my past analyses and listing them properly. Thanks again. Edofedinburgh 19:39, 29 March 2007 (UTC)

Blimey! So much work you did there! --kingboyk 13:18, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Hi Edo. With regards to you ratings comments, these should be placed on the comments subpage: typically Talk:Articlename/Comments. For example, instead of posting your comment Talk:Helen Reddy, you should post it at Talk:Helen Reddy/Comments. Thanks,--cj | talk 18:06, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
