The name "Cracker-Cats" is derived from the oil industry term Fluid Catalytic Cracking ("cat cracking" for short), which is part of the process of refining crude oil into gasoline.

May 20, 2005 - First game of inaugural season at the Kansas City T-Bones.
May 27, 2005 - 7849 fans attend inagural home opener vs the Sioux Falls Canaries.
June 13, 2006 - Infamous brawl with the Calgary Vipers. The resulting suspension leads manager Terry Bevington to resign.
July 18, 2006 - Stubby Clapp named MVP of the Northern League All-Star game.
September 3, 2006 - The Cracker-Cats finish their second season six games back in the wild card race and miss the playoffs.
