[edit] User:Icelandic Hurricane

Icelandic Hurricane (talk contribs) Hello everyone. I'm Icelandic Hurricane and I've decided to put myself up for Editor review. Here's a little bit about myself. I first dicovered Wikipedia through Google around November 2004. I edited anonymously for quite some time, and I finally got a username on January 4, 2006 (January 5, UTC). I got progressively obsessed with Wikipedia (my wikiholic score is 400 something), and became more and more active. Right now, I have over 8,000 edits, not including my anonymous edits. I frequently edit tropical cyclone related articles, though I all edit local articles or other subjects I enjoy.

Reviews

  • Honestly, the only comment I can make is: you could probably benefit from greater use of edit summaries. Even when you may not think they're necessary, they can make life much easier for everyone. Other than that, you look like a very promising user: 8,000-odd edits in so short a space of time is nothing to be sniffed at! RandyWang (chat me up/fix me up) 09:41, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
    • In response to your comment about edit summaries, I actually didn't know exactly what they were when I first made my account, but then someone told me what they're for and that I should use them. So now I use edit summaries 75% of the time. íslenska hurikein #12 (samtal) 14:51, 9 August 2006 (UTC)
  • An outstanding Wikipedian, I'm surprised that you're not an administrator yet. Keep up the good work! --Gray Porpoise 16:44, 11 August 2006 (UTC)
  • One of the wikipedians I most see around. A great contributor.--Húsönd 15:40, 28 August 2006 (UTC)

Questions

  1. Of your contributions to Wikipedia, are there any about which you are particularly pleased, and why?
Probably my proudest contributions would be Hurricane Debby (2000) and the Storm of October 1804, which I both nearly singlehandedly worked on.
  2. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
I did have a minor conflict with NSLE, where he seemed to be watching my everymove and only me. But now we've gotten over that and we're not mad at eachother.
