User talk:Editor at Large/Thank you

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Desperately trying to get this to work, why won't the {{{1}}} include the text when I write {{User:Editor at Large/Thank you|(I put my text here)}}  ? Thanks in advance :-) — Editor at Large(speak) 01:02, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

I see what you did. You put {{{text}}}, so you'll need to go {{User:Editor at Large/Thank you|text=whatever text}}. -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 01:08, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
I tried with {{{1}}} and {{{1|}}} and neither of them worked... Oh well, thanks for the help :-) — Editor at Large(speak) 01:10, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
I think you may have misunderstood me there. {{User:Editor at Large/Thank you|text=whatever text}} would produce:

Thank you so much for your support!

I can't say thank you enough for the support that you have shown me over the past few days. It means the world to me, and has certainly helped me along the road to recovery! I will cherish forever the kind messages and "gifts" that were sent to me and think of them whenever times are rough.

I didn't realise that my absence would cause so much concern, and I apologise if I caused anyone undue stress. I feel that I owe you an explanation, at least! for what happened, to return in some small way the kindness you showed to me. I will post it here as soon as possible, if you would like to know the reason for my brief departure and the links on my userpage.

whatever text

(unless I'm misunderstanding you). -Royalguard11(Talk·Desk·Review Me!) 01:17, 13 November 2006 (UTC)

No, I know that your code works -- I was just saying that I tried the {{{1}}} version (which I've never had to use 1=whatever or text=whatever for) and it didn't work. I tried your solution and it works perfectly, thanks a bunch! :-) — Editor at Large(speak) 01:24, 13 November 2006 (UTC)
