On Wikipedia:
I joined Wikipedia on November 6th 2005 as Lady Earth, after hovering for some time. I tried to fill in all the missing Mayors of Ottawa and made some minor contributions to dance-related subjects. After losing the password to my Lady Earth account, I joined as Editor at Large; a name which reflects both my profession and my initial mission here on Wikipedia.
A punctuation and spelling stickler, I only intended to make minor changes to spelling and punctuation on articles; the reason I had joined was so I could make these changes without being an anonymous and annoying IP address. I soon ended up filling in missing articles and re-wording or re-writing others.
On August 13th I had the good fortune to finally notice the new tools in my toolbox after installing Lupin's Popups tool. I have since started a war against vandalism, hampered only by my horrible
habit/inclination to keep track of everything. After one day of vandalism reverts, I sometimes spend three getting my log updated! Luckily I've learned to relax a little...
In Real Life:
I am currently a student in Ottawa, Ontario. I am an amateur webmaster (not a very good one), own a small (very small) publishing company, and am a member of a pre-professional Ballet company (but don't get paid for it).
I am studying Creative Writing and Advanced English in the hopes of becoming a professional editor, Ancient Egypt in the hopes of becoming an Egyptologist, and Criminology and Law in the hopes of becoming a Criminal Lawyer, Detective, or Criminal Psychologist.
I aspire to study Nanotechnology in the hopes of becoming a nanotechnologist (but I hate math and am awful at Science), and Languages in the hopes of becoming a Professional Translator (but am awful at grammar).

Excellent User Page Award

Thanks so much for the (completely unsolicited!) advice regarding my userpage! Eventually I went with EMan32x's design, probably because it was the most different to my old one, and I felt like a bit of a change. But thanks so much, regardless :) riana_dzasta 10:35, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

For being my friend and all that goes with it,
I, $PЯINGεrαgђ, give you this cream tart. Enjoy!
Well, here's another goodie to add to your collection! ;)
Well, on a slightly more serious note,
you've made me laugh a lot, that's a good sign of a friend,
and any Esperanzan deserves one of these, anyway!
And I'm tired and can't think of anything else to say… ;-)

After being all that you've been through, you desrve this. It perfectly describes you! Don't let anything get you down again, or I might have to fill up your page again! ;-) --Randfan 01:37, 17 November 2006 (UTC)

- Me: On the MotoMixer on some Motorola phones, there's a base tune called "Esperanza".
- You: Really? Is it good?
- Me: Really. It's all cheery; which, as it's Spanish for 'hope', it should be!
- You: Yes indeed. No MfD's on the ringtone, I hope?
You know why :) Will (Tell me, is something eluding you, sunshine?) 20:47, 21 November 2006 (UTC)

The Golden Wiki Award

As their homepage says, Esperanza stands for hope. In spite of many newer Esperanzans who have tainted those values, several conflicts, a lot of personal stress, and the death of one close to you, the one thing that has been eternal has been your hope. Your tireless contributions to Wikipedia in spite of these circumstances have served as an example for countless Wikipedians, and it is my honour to award you with this award. Remember, it's always darkest before the dawn. Cheers, ✎ Peter M Dodge aka "Wiz" (Talk to Me) (Support Neutrality) 01:42, 19 December 2006 (UTC)
