To format references to articles in academic journals in a consistent and legible manner, per guidelines laid out at Comic Art in Scholarly Writing: A Citation Guide.

  • cartoonist: Last name, First name. The First, Last parameters are preferred.
    • first: First name of cartoonist (ignored if Cartoonist field is used).
    • last: Surname of author (ignored if Cartoonist field is used).
  • cartoon: Title of cartoon, if any. If a cartoon's caption is used, place it in quotation marks "thus".
  • paper: Name of the newspaper. A required field.
  • location: Location of paper if felt necessary.
  • date: January 1. Month and day of publication. A required field.
  • year: 2006. Year of publication. A required field.
  • page: Page upon which the cartoon appears. A required field.
  • id: Identifier such as {{ISSN|1111-2220}}, PMID 15128012
  • url: URL of a copy of the article, if available online.

I propose a move to {{cite editorial cartoon}} - to keep with the naming convention on citation list - I will clean up the redirects. Trödel 22:55, 30 May 2006 (UTC)
