Edison is a New Jersey Transit station on the Northeast Corridor Line, in Edison, New Jersey. It is located at the corner of Central and Plainfield Avenues (Rt. 529) in the southern part of the town, and accessible by car via Reed Street (off Central Avenue). A Dunkin' Donuts franchise operates in the waiting room of the north/New York City-bound platform. Passengers are required to use a ticket machine as there is no station agent or station office. Elevators and ramps make both the north- and south-bound platforms wheelchair accessible. Due to the growing population of Edison, the station has experienced a corresponding increase in rider usage over the last 10-15 years, resulting in a shortage of parking spaces on weekdays and heavy traffic during rush hours. To ease some of this traffic, the local government operates the Edison Light Transit commuter shuttle (schedule [1]), which serves several nearby housing developments.

In early 2005, plans were announced to significantly expand the station, most notably with the addition of 800 parking spaces. [2]
