Edinborough Park

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Edinborough Park is a one-acre, fully enclosed indoor park located in Edina, Minnesota. Opened in 1987, the park is operated by the City of Edina and contains a junior-Olympic size swimming pool, a 250-seat Greek-style amphitheatre, a running track and fitness area, a huge indoor playground (Adventure Park) and a multi-purpose banquet room and play area.

All of these amenities are connected by meandering pathways through the densely landscaped interior, which contains more than 6,000 plants, trees, and flowers. At the heart of the park is the lush plantscape, carefully designed to resemble a Northwoods forest instead of the tropical look of most interior landscaping. The park features more than 100 trees, some reaching heights of 40 feet or more, scattered throughout the interior. Stone pathways traverse the park and lead to a grotto area complete with a pond and small waterfalls.

A four-story office tower, Edina Park Plaza (for senior living) and a Residence Inn by Marriott (Edina’s only hotel) are all attached to Edinborough Park.
