Edie Grant (nee Edith McKenzie) was a fictional character on the seventies sitcom, The Mary Tyler Moore Show. She was played on a recurring basis by the late actress, Priscilla Morrill.
[edit] Lou's wife
Edie was the wife of Lou Grant and the mother of his children. She and Lou were married for many years, but after so long together, the marriage was coming to an end. Edie had wanted to see what her life was like. She wanted to see herself as more than just Lou Grant's wife. She wanted to get to know Edie McKenzie once again. Thusly, she broke up with Lou and the marriage soon ended.
In a later season, Edie was remarried, and in a true act of compassion, asked Lou, accompanied by Mary Richards to attend her wedding. Lou held his peace and they parted friends. Even when Lou lived in Los Angeles, he and Edie kept in touch, due to them being the parents of their daughters.
