The Edgar Winter Group is a 1970s rock band founded by Edgar Winter.
Notable former members include guitarists Ronnie Montrose (who left to form Montrose in 1973) and Rick Derringer, and pop singer Dan Hartman (who left for a solo career in 1975).
Among the group's songs are the hits "Frankenstein" and "Free Ride", both from the 1972 album They Only Come Out at Night.
