EDE or Equinox Desktop Environment is a small desktop environment that is meant to be simple and fast. It is based on a modified version of FLTK, called eFLTK. It has a familiar look and feel which resembles the classic look in Microsoft Windows.
[edit] EDE distributions
EDE is not as common in Linux distributions as KDE and GNOME, or even Xfce. Few distributions include EDE even as an optional component.
Some distributions which include EDE by default:
- SaxenOS (formerly STX) - Slackware-based liveCD
- Baltix (since 2007, ver. 2.6beta) - Ubuntu and Debian-based installable OS + liveCD
