Eddy Merckx metro station

Eddy Merckx is a Metro station on Line 1B of the Brussels Metro. It is named after Belgian cyclist Eddy Merckx, five time winner of the Tour de France.
The station opened on September 15, 2003 as part of an extension between Bizet and Erasme/Erasmus stations. It is decorated with objects commemorating Merckx, including, displayed in a glass cabinet on the station platform, the bicycle on which he set the hour record in 1972.
