Ed Sloan

Edward Michael Sloan, (born March 13, 1973 in Columbia, South Carolina), better known as Ed Sloan, is an American musician. He is the lead vocalist and guitarist of the metal group Crossfade. He plays a seven-string guitar.

At the age of eight, he started playing piano and soon thereafter started playing the guiar. In high school, he and friend Mitch James started a band called The Nothing. Drummer Brian Geiger and DJ Tony Byroads later joined and the group was renamed Sugardaddy Superstar. Sloan went to college at the University of South Carolina, majoring in computer programming. Soon after, Sugarddaddy Superstar began to record their own music in a studio (which the band called Sugarstar Studios) built in Sloan's home. The group was signed by Columbia Records and changed their name to Crossfade. They released Crossfade in 2004, and two years later, released another album called Falling Away.
