Ed Oates

Ed Oates (1946-) co-founded Software Development Labs in August 1977 with Larry Ellison, and Bob Miner. Software Development Labs later became Oracle Corporation.

Ed Oates graduated with a BA in mathematics from San Jose State University in 1968, and worked at Singer, the US Army Persinscom (drafted), Ampex, and Memorex before co-founding Oracle. He retired from the company in 1996 and is currently a member of the board of advisors of Auguri Corporation and Gloolabs, in addition to volunteering time on the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Zoological Society.
