Ed Jew

Edmund Jew (Simplified Chinese: 赵悦明)is a third generation San Franciscan and a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. His grandfather emigrated from China around the turn of the century. By 1927, his grandfather had established the Canton Flower Shop in Chinatown and became a distinguished leader in the community. Ed Jew lives in the Sunset District, and continues to run the family flower shop with his wife, Lisa.

Jew was district four supervisor Leland Yee's volunteer community liaison in 1996. He also served on the Advisory Council of the Office of Aging and the Board of Directors of the Chinese Holocaust Museum. In November 2006, Jew was elected supervisor of district four, succeeding Fiona Ma who was subsequently elected to the California State Assembly, representing the Sunset District.
