Ed Binns

Edward Binns (September 12, 1916December 4, 1990) was a stage, film and television actor.

Binns was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. After appearing in a number of Broadway plays, Binns began appearing in films in the early 1950s. Some of his notable roles include playing Juror #6 (the painter) in 12 Angry Men and Major General Walter Bedell Smith in the Academy Award-winning film Patton (1970). Binns also appeared in dozens of television programs including being a cast member of It Takes a Thief (1969-1970). Binns also played in one episode of the television series M*A*S*H as General Korshak.

Binns died from a heart attack at the age of 74 while traveling from New York to his home in Connecticut.
