Hi. Nice templates. I am concerned, however, about the potential uses for the "female bias" one; for some people this is the same as saying "feminist" or "sensitive to gender" or even "mentions gender." I think if I were making them I would just have one that said "gender bias." That also would have the benefit of not limiting genders to the usual two. scribblingwoman 03:05, 19 March 2007 (UTC)
- Me again! I'm flattered that you took my advice; thanks. I'm going to be a bug again: I think that I would change the wording here. "Gender bias" usually refers to a limited perspective that ignores either men or women. Such a perspective is not necessarily limited to issues of sexuality, but that is what the second part of the template implies. Do you want a general template that refers to, say, an article with a limited, masculinist view of, say, paid labour or some other topic, or do you want something specific that refers to unexamined assumptions about sexuality (i.e. that refers exclusively to examples of heterosexism, ignoring the range of possible human sexuality, etc. etc.)? I think this is going in two directions. Sorry to be critical; it is only because I am on board with you here that I am jumping in. scribblingwoman 01:28, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- More thoughts: templates are usually pretty concise. How about just "This article or section may present a gender-biased point of view"? Short, to the point, and gives you the wiggle room that most such warning templates usually have. Okay, I'll stop now! scribblingwoman 01:32, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- I just made the template after seeing a conversation on this talk page about guy underwear. The discussion was about this info being removed. (The info was pretty disturbing, if you think about it...) Interpret my reasons any way you want... :) Ed ¿Cómo estás? 01:47, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
- Oh! Er, ... oh. scribblingwoman 02:00, 20 March 2007 (UTC)
