Presidential and Parliamentary elections were held in Ecuador on 20 October, 2002.

Lucio Gutiérrez won the first round of voting, but did not receive over 50% of ballots, necessitating a second round. again emerged victorious, claiming 54.8% of the vote against Álvaro Noboa's 45.2%.

The parliamentary election produced a fragmented legislature; no party received over 15 seats (out of 100) and 24 parties won representation, 14 of them with just one seat.
