[edit] Economy of Second Life is not numismatic
If someone wants a numismatism article about Second Life, fine. Just don't hijack this one. Lee.Sailer 21:17, 11 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] SL credit/debit card?
I'm curious about the use of Image:Linden Dollar.jpg in this article. Is this a genuine SL credit/debit card? The image's info page only states that it's been created by FrummerThanThou and released under a GNU license. If this is only someone's conception of what an SL credit/debit card could look like, then it should not be used in its current context in this article. —Slowspace 21:34, 25 January 2007 (UTC)
There is no such thing as a credit/debit card in SL. 24.205.78.242 23:41, 19 February 2007 (UTC)
If I remember rightly, it's an actual card Eric Rice had his bank knock up. So unless FrummerThanThou is Eric Rice, it should probably be removed for copyvio. Signpostmarv 05:45, 20 February 2007 (UTC)
- So is the card officially recognised and approved by Linden Lab? If not, then either the image should be removed, or a caption/summary should be added, explaining that this card isn't official. —Slowspace 12:19, 20 February 2007 (UTC)

- It's a Mastercard.
- Linden Lab accept most major credit debit cards.
- They don't care what you have plastered all over the front of it.
- However, since Linden Lab do not distribute debit cards that access your in-world currency, whereas Entropia Universe do, it would be prudent to caption the image to indicate that it is a customised debit card, and not one provided by Linden Lab.

[edit] Other exchanges than Lindex?
The article mentions that there are other currency exchanges than the official LindeX. Which are they? —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Bromskloss (talk • contribs) 23:03, 26 January 2007 (UTC).
- SL Exchange is quite popular. —Slowspace 19:33, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] GDP
I am rather sceptical about the figures regarding SL's GDP. For starters, the source cited does not state whether the 64 M USD figure is a PPP or exchange rate conversion. Actually, a Google search for '"Second Life" GDP' returns the figures 170, 220 and 700 M USD on the first page. Take your pick...
Bottom line: the current GDP figure is meaningless.
