Echium virescens (Tower of jewels) is a plant included in the genus Echium. It is a herbaceous biennial plant and grows up to 2 m in height and requires plenty of sun and lives in dry conditions. They are endemic in the island of Tenerife mainly in Macizo de Anaga and the Orotava Valley.

It has its own flowering region and are in the lower zones of the slopes of the south of the island.

Roses in several dense and cylindrical inflorescences, mainly in bifid lateral tops, the difference with the Echium webbii of the island of La Palma that has simple lateral tops.
It forms a dense foliage with the color green grey. Thick persistent lanceolates in the base and less throughout the inflorescense with hairs for both faces.
Chalice with welded sepals in its base. Infundibuliformed corolla something zygomorphous, lobules of the asymmetric corolla laterally compressed. It has pale or pink celestial color.

The plant blooms from the end of winter to the beginning of spring.

This plant is used in gardens. The plant are used for beekeeping, the plant has a great risk of pollen and nectar from other flowers.
