[edit] PayPal

Is pay pal actually e-cash, or does it just process credit card transactions?

PayPal does more than just credit cards; I fund my PayPal account from my bank account. I'm not sure if it counts as e-cash, though, as all amounts are held in a national currency. Jobarts-Talk 12:53, 7 January 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Anonymous Ecash

What would the ramifications be if there were a cryptographically backed Ecash system that held payer and payee untraceable to each other, to remote observers, and even to the issuing bank itself? Is this anything anyone has done or tried yet?

I only say because I think I may have stumbled upon a tech solution that would allow exactly that. I'm putting out a request for comments.

Thanks. :)
