Ebrahim Asgharzadeh (Persian:ابراهیم اصغرزاده) has served as a member of the 3th Majlis (Iran's legislature) during 1989-1993 and as president of the first City Council of Tehran during 1999-2003. Also he was one the leaders of Student Followers of the Imam during Iran hostage crisis. Now he's leader of the "Hambastegi" political party.

In his politics and journalism he has strongly urged the mullahs to adopt democratic reforms, such as freedom of the press and the elimination of veto powers they wield over political candidates and legislation.
