Eating Media Lunch is a satirical news show which airs on New Zealand's TV 2 (with the current season also streaming on the TVNZ website). The show began in 2003 and as of 2006 is currently in its 6th season. It is hosted by Jeremy Wells.

The show is frequently controversial, in 2005 it shocked viewers when it depicted two newsreaders fornicating[1] (a parody of Naked News). It frequently causes complaints to the Broadcasting Standards Authority, ranging from complaints about the show's treatment of New Zealand celebrities[2] to complaints about an episode which showed a cat in a microwave oven.[3].

The show features a regular animated segment by Anthony Ellison titled 'Media Dog' which is available online. Since 2004 the series has included an annual 'awards' show which "honour[s] the absurd and the unusual as seen on television, radio and newspapers" categories include: "Services to Scaremongering, Worst Moment on Reality TV, The Inappropriate Touching Award and the much coveted New Zealander of The Year trophy."[1] The new season features former Close Up reporter Hugh Sundae as well as Matt Heath and Chris Stapp from Back of the Y. According to TVNZ the new season will tackle "racism, reality TV and the country's best-known protesters"[1].
