[edit] Reputation

Eastside is consistently ranked in the top 10 among the top 50 of America's high schools by Newsweek magazine, due to the number of Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate tests it administers to students every year. Newsweek claims that their rankings indicate which schools are America's "best," but some argue that the use of this qualifier is misleading.[1]

In 2004, Eastside's Institute of Culinary Arts was ranked fifty second in the state of Florida and second in the United States. They were also ranked 4th overall in the nation's high schools by Newsweek magazine.

In 2005, Eastside was ranked fourteenth in the nation by Newsweek magazine. [2] This ranking was based on an index computed by dividing the number of Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate tests taken by students by the number of graduating seniors.

In 2006, Eastside was ranked 6th in the nation's high schools by Newsweek Magazine.
